International Advisory Youth Board
A dynamic and impactful International Advisory Youth Board will not only support the Yyouth NGO in Norway but also empower young individuals globally to contribute meaningfully to youth development and advocacy.
The International Advisory Youth Board (IAYB) is an initiative under the Yyouth NGO in Norway, aiming to harness the potential and perspectives of young volunteers from diverse backgrounds. The board consists of youth representatives from various countries, providing strategic advice, innovative ideas, and feedback to enhance the organization’s programs and initiatives.
Yyouth supports Increased Mobility with Equal Access for All as Norway’s Participation Strategy in Erasmus+ and the European Education Area.
In Norway, Erasmus+ is the most important tool for increasing exchanges to and from other countries. However, there is significant variation in the extent to which different educational levels and actors within the youth sector use the program, and there are large geographical differences.
It is important to work towards ensuring that all young people have equal access and opportunity to participate in international exchange schemes and projects. In the youth sector, it is particularly important to include young people with fewer opportunities.
There are indications that the program is already relatively successful in this regard – over 30% of participants were in this category in the previous program period. Research on the effects of participation in Erasmus+ also shows that the positive effects are particularly strong for young people with fewer opportunities. At the same time, it remains important to work towards ensuring that all young people have equal access to the program.
